Cimta history and strengthening the role of women in territorial management

Women in different indigenous peoples of the Amazon have been excluded from decision-making in their communities throughout their history, according to Neyde. Therefore, it was seen as necessary to create a space for decision-making for women through the Tacana Indigenous Women’s Council (CIMTA) as a space for Tacana women.
