Meliponiculture, the practice of beekeeping with stingless bees, is emerging as a new development alternative for the T’simane communities within the Pilón Lajas Indigenous Territory and Biosphere Reserve (RB-TCO Pilón Lajas). In recent years, the demand for “señorita” honey, produced by stingless bees, has increased considerably. Roque shares his testimony about his experience as an entrepreneur in the challenging field of meliponiculture.
