Subsistence hunting among the Tacana people
Territory and resource management
Tumupasa
Subsistence hunting is a way of life for the Tacana people, providing them with essential protein. It is conducted in a regulated manner to prevent commercial exploitation. Specific hunting zones are established, and practices are regulated to prevent the overuse of natural resources. Roger shares insights into his hunting practices and discusses the Chibute, also known as the “amo del monte” (master of the forest), a spiritual guardian that protects the forest and its animals.
