Threat of a dam in San Miguel del Bala

For several years the Tacana people have been fighting against the construction of a dam that threatens the life of the Beni river, having to flood thousands of hectares of the river and relocate the communities living along the river. In addition to cutting off the passage of fish downstream, affecting the livelihoods of the Tacana population of the sector. This is why San Miguel del Bala was one of the leading communities in the struggle against the construction of an imposed dam.
