Artisanal mining is a livelihood which is done with some personal tools while washing water in the rivers, which occurs inside and outside Madidi NP-IMNA. However, Raul explains the differences between artisanal mining and mechanised mining which is the one that has been causing the most pollution in the rivers through the use of mercury and the destruction of the rivers and the creation of roads inside Madidi NP-IMNA.
