Uchupiamanas women and indigenous governance

Like many women’s organizations in the sector, the governance of San José de Uchupiamonas began with a “Mothers’ Club”, which has gradually taken its own course to achieve the integration of Uchupiamona women into governance, complementing the general decisions of the community of San José within the Madidi Park. Juana illustrates the hard process of reclaiming the right of women to make decisions in her town through her example.
